The Anya Hindmarsh bag that had been unashamedly push, shoved and mashed into our faces as the must-have item for 2007. The Anya Hindmarsh bag that Keira Nightly was papped lugging through the mean streets of london. The Anya Hindmarsh bag that managed to completely lose it's whole meaning due to it's own success.

In the queue I listened to the minions rambling about which mag they'd seen it in ('So what's she called? The one who designed it 'an all?) and I signed.

Not one person was there in support of the cause, and not one person would use it for it's realy purpose.

But do you know what really, REALLY grated me???

Every single person in the queue in front of me, after paying their £5 for a canvas bag emblazoned with the words 'I AM NOT A PLASTIC BAG' then proceeded to place it in a Sainsbury's plastic bag.

I ask you, is it me?? I stood aghast at the sight infront of me. I even commented to the cashier guy who rolled his eyes in sympathy with my frustration. I approached a woman swinging her plastic carrier bag on the way out of the store, and her only comment was that she didn't want to get it dirty! I mean, seriously, some people!

So where do I go from here? To Ebay to purchase one for £200, or to wearewhatwedo.org to guiltily pledge more money to make up for the retards I queued with....

You decide.....

 Comments

Step 1

There is one thing that makes this world the place it is and that's the people in it.

Every single day of your life is influenced by the people you come across during your day. Whether it's the person who smiles at you for no reason, the person who thinks the status of their car obviously gives them special rights, or the person who simply ignores you.

But what makes the People Effect so difficult to understand, so hard to comprehend and so bloody annoying is the fact we let it affect us.

It's taken me 27 years to realise that the way i feel, the way I react to others and the direction my life is moving in is a result of how people, strangers, famly, lovers, friends, treat me.

This realisation, and this realisation alone is the sole fire behind this blog. Every encounter I have that results in a direct effect on my life, will be logged. Every encounter I have that makes me feel good, I will log. Every encounter I have that quite frankly fucks me off, I will log.

It is then up to you, my reader, to learn and change. To realise what you do, your facial expression and the bad mood you pass on to strangers, is making this world, this one planet we all have to reside on, a bad place.
